[close]Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire at Ironstone Vineyards31 October, 2008 to 2 November, 2008 The 31st Annual Mountain Heirloom Quilt Faire will be held October 31, November 1, and November 2 at Ironstone Vineyards. As always, numerous quilts, wall hangings, wearable art, hand-made dolls, and needle art will be on display. Visitors will have a chance to vote for their favorite quilts, attend demonstrations, win door prizes, browse through vendor booths, and shop at the Boutique and Country Store. The Faire will be open Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Sunday, November 2 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Admission is $7.00 at the door.
Independence Hall Quilters use proceeds from the annual Quilt Faire to contribute throughout the year to Ronald McDonald House, local schools, parks and libraries, the Women's Crisis Center, the Red Cross, and law enforcement organizations. The guild also provides scholarships for high school students going on to college.

This year's event will offer an exciting and thematic venue entitled "Carnevale â€" An Italian Winter Festival". Think Italy, think Venice, think mysterious masks, intriguing entertainment, an elegant European bistro, a beautiful costume, the festive holiday season â€" all and more promise to be this year's FOT CARNEVALE. FOT's CARNEVALE will begin with a black tie event on Saturday, November 22nd. This evening of dancing, entertainment, champagne and light hors d'oeuvres will be followed by the traditional Teddy Bear Tea on November 23rd. FOT will also host their annual free viewing of the trees at Kautz Ironstone Vineyards during the week of November 24th through November 29th.

Most of Main St. will be closed to allow visitors to stroll from store to store, carolers and other performers to entertain the crowd, and the popular children's parade to take place. Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead the parade that begins at 6 p.m. The jolly couple will then light the community tree and proceed to the Native Sons Hall where they will greet the youngsters and pose for pictures.
